about the prints
Prints are available on lustre/satin photo paper, metal (aluminium), stretched canvas (gicleee prints) or fine art paper, depending on the image and size. Paintings are available on canvas (giclee prints) or fine art paper only. All prints are archival museum quality, printed at a professional lab. Stretched canvas prints have a black edge unless otherwise requested, this ensures that the entire image is shown on the front of the canvas.

Mirrored edges may be available depending on the lab, but the results can be unpredictable and does not always look good, so a black edge is recommended. Please contact the artist before placing an order if you would prefer a mirrored edge and I can asses the image and see if it might work. A “gallery wrap’ edge loses the edges of the image to the sides, so I do not normally offer it as it can drastically change the image shown on the front, cutting off important elements.
about the originals
Original paintings may be on canvas, paper, canvas paper or other materials depending on the medium used. Care must be taken when handling pastels as the painting can easily be smudged if handled incorrectly. The pieces usually have an unpainted border to enable easier handling and framing. Occasionally, the removal of tape can cause some surface damage to the border area, but this is covered up by the mat or frame and does not affect the artwork. Pastels should be framed under UV protective glass with double mats or spacers. Professional framing is highly recommended.

A pastel painting is normally slightly smaller than the paper size due to the border created when taping the paper to a board. This border can be trimmed off, but leaving it and covering it with the mat or frame is recommended as pastels smudge easily and handling them by the blank paper edge prevents damage.
Images painted on stretched canvas have been varnished and require no special care, but if removed from the stretcher bars and rolled for shipping they will need to be re-stretched. Shipping rolled canvases is much cheaper and safer for the painting.
