Exploring nature through art

Based in Alberta, Canada, I am a fine artist specializing in landscape and wildlife art. My work is dedicated to exploring nature through art – a journey that looks a bit different for me today than it used to, but one that has only grown deeper with time.

For years, my exploration happened behind a camera lens as a professional photographer. After a serious illness left me mostly housebound and bed-bound with very limited energy for daily life I had to give up the career I loved so much, but my drive to create remained. I embraced my lifelong love of art, and with a modest improvement in my health, I am now able to spend a few hours a week painting at my easel.

I now draw upon a rich archive of my past photography to bring the natural world to life in the studio. Immersing myself in the world of pastels and oils allows me to explore the quiet strength of wildlife and the dramatic light of the places I love, from the Canadian Rockies to the desert Southwest.
