about the artist
My connection to the natural world has shaped my entire life. Growing up in Australia, I began painting with oils and exploring landscape photography as a teenager. I have always loved plants, and constantly found myself photographing them. That deep curiosity for the environment eventually led me to university, where I graduated with Honours in botany and ecology.
After moving to Alberta, I built a flourishing career as a professional wedding and portrait photographer, something I had been working toward for many years. While that chapter was eventually cut short due to a severe chronic illness, my time in the field allowed me to amass an archive of landscape and wildlife photography which I am proud to share as fine-art prints today.

Now mostly housebound and bed-bound with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS), I am rarely able to go exploring, but my love of the wilderness has not diminished. For several years I painted digitally in bed on my iPad, but I longed to create art with traditional media again; unique original pieces that could hang in a gallery or in someone’s home. While my time at the easel is quite limited, I paint whenever I can. Every new painting is a win over an illness that has rendered millions of people invisible to the world. Recently I discovered an affinity for pastels, and am excited to create more artwork in this medium alongside oils and acrylics.
When I am not painting, I might be found sewing and quilting. I also dabble in millinery, and I’m a lover of vintage fashion, particularly 1920s through the 1940s. But most of the time, I’m resting or listening to audiobooks, surrounded by a large collection of plants!
Every piece in this gallery is a reflection of patience, determination, and an enduring love for the wild places of the world.
