I picked up the phone, still getting used to my new Foo Fighters ringtone, and on the other end of the line was a stranger named Jason, asking about a proposal shoot. Go on… (my brain is now engaged and my interest is piqued). He goes on… to say he wants to do it on canoes in the middle of Lake Louise. OMG! Having waited pretty much forever to get someone, anyone, to agree to go out on the boats for photos, I couldn’t wait. He asked about a backup plan in case it was rainy… pffft. I knew damn well that was not going to happen on such a special occasion. No way.
Friday came, and the weather was absolutely perfect. I parked and walked to the lake. I spotted a young couple ahead of me and thought to myself “that could be them”. I saw them again at the boathouse and smiled at Jason. The sly, secretive smile he returned confirmed it. My couple was here! And Shelby didn’t have a clue what was about to happen.
I think the photos tell the rest of the story well enough, so get scrolling. It’s worth it.
Jason gives me the thumbs up. It’s on.
He spilled the beans about my presence pretty quickly. Double suprise.
We heard a squeak on the way up to Moraine Lake – so I told them about Pikas and as luck would have it, it came closer.
Jason bought a polaroid camera to try out.
