Canmore winter wedding: Christine & John

Canmore winter wedding skating bride and groom portrait

Christine and John began the year by getting married in the mountains. They chose Sage Bistro for the ceremony and added the most beautiful details into the cozy space. With the bride’s sister watching via facetime and a small group of family and friends (and their two dogs) in attendance they said their vows and made it official.

After the ceremony and a champagne toast we headed out into the cold for some portraits. We went to the engine bridge for family photos then headed up to one of Canmore’s skating ponds. The alpenglow on the peaks provided a perfect backdrop for the newlyweds taking their first skate as a married couple. On the way back we stopped at Quarry Lake and I was happy to see the beautiful hoarfrost still decorating the trees along the lake path. I had been there just two days earlier for a New Year’s Eve wedding so I knew exactly where to go for some truly wintery portraits!

I hope Christine and John’s married life is as special and beautiful as their wedding day. Congratulations and it was a pleasure to be your wedding photographer!
