When Carson’s dad Joerg contacted me for some photos of his new son, I was thrilled. Babies are always interesting and challenging to photograph, and, well, cute! The next day, with Carson at just six days old, I took some supplies including blankets, props and a basket, and headed out to meet the five-day-old baby boy.
Try as we might to get baby Carson to sleep so we could pose him for some photos, he just wasn’t interested in sleeping. He would drop off but awaken if we moved him even a little, so we did a natural lifestyle session to show the bonding between the parents and their new child. After all, everyone in the family wanted photos with the baby anyway.
I think the baby-in-a-knit-wrap style photos are adorable (after all I’m big on knitting, sewing and crafty things), but it’s quite clear that Carson is his own man already, and wants to be photographed under his own terms. He is unique, and so are his photos.
