I had the delightful experience of shooting Breanna and Hayden’s e-session in Canmore and Banff recently. They both love the outdoors and drove up early in the morning for their romantic mountain session. Early is great for best light (so of course it turned out to be cloudy that day) but one of the other advantages is beating the crowds and having some great locations all to yourself. We visited a few of my favourite locations in Canmore, including a lovely spot I discovered a couple of years ago but hadn’t gotten around to shooting at. After a quick stop at Tim Hortons (I really needed a coffee) we headed to Vermillion Lakes near Banff for a few shots on the docks.
One of my location choices turned out to be right near the spot they got engaged last winter, so we had a little fun doing a proposal re-enactment, minus the snow of course. I imagine it would have been seriously romantic surrounded by white flakes.
