I grew up in Australia and emigrated to Canada in 2007. I’ve been painting on and off since I was fifteen years old, and taking photos just as long. I have no formal training in either (I studied biology and ecology at university), but I have always had a love of nature and art. I was drawn to photographing the flowers when I was young, and I still love to do that.
I settled in Alberta in 2010 and ever since have been roaming around the mountains with my camera, until I got too sick to leave the house most days. Since I can’t do photography anymore, I’ve returned to painting as I can do it in bed.
I don’t really consider myself an artist, but I love art and it’s one of the last things I can actually do, sort of. The truth is, it’s also very difficult, and causes too much pain, so I take long breaks where I don’t do anything. I can’t pick up the camera either, and I can’t go anywhere. But I wanted to share the work I’ve done in the past, and post new work when I can.
