Joann and Michael came from New York for a snowboard holiday, and choose Banff and Canmore as the perfect spot for their engagement photos. Their wedding will be held on Long Isand this summer, and I guarantee you I will be taking a peek at their wedding photos when they come out.
Coming from the city they marvelled at how quiet life is here – it was a while before they heard a car horn! Life is pretty peaceful here in the mountains, especially in the winter when there are few tourists out sightseeing.
I was excited to learn they wanted some photos with their snowboards, and I had a photo all planned out. I pictured them standing their snowboards up and leaning over them for a kiss, with the town of Banff in the background, and preferably some light snow for atmosphere. It all worked out just as I had planned, as we were setting up the snow started to fall, but not so much that we couldn’t see the mountains and the town. Just perfect! It quickly got too dark to see what I was doing, but we managed to get some cool shots with the boards before the night took over.
