Just before I left for a short getaway in Jasper, Katie and Justin contacted me asking if I could do their engagement photos. In my previous visits to Jasper I had seen some great locations for wedding and portrait sessions, and the timing was perfect. The only thing left was to find out which lakes were free of ice, and hope for good weather. We did an evening shoot, which was great because even though we didn’t have the sunset we were hoping for, we were able to shoot in both daylight and dusk, and the approach of the night sky meant some dramatic and interesting images.
We had a fantastic time while we were shooting; Katie and Justin were willing to do pretty much anything to get good photos including standing barefoot in freezing cold water. They patiently attempted all sorts of poses including climbing on rocks and learning the art of the dip, and never once complained about all the giant mosquitoes landing on their faces. This has to be one of the most scenic and fun e-sessions I’ve ever done. They say a change is as good as a holiday.
