Sarah and Wes had a beautifully intimate wedding at the Paintbox Lodge in Canmore. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they celebrated their lives and love together. Although they describe themselves as pragmatic, the love and joy was abundant on their special day.
The day could not have been more perfect and the scenery more vibrant. The mountain scenery provided the perfect backdrop for our new couple. We were able to take full advantage of nature’s beauty during this session, from mountain peaks to lakeside to rolling fields. We also took some shots at Paintbox Lodge with a vintage bicycle, which Sarah promptly jumped on attempting a joyride, but she quickly discovered that it was not going to work! This resulted in some lovely candid shots.
Sarah and Wes held their reception at the lovely Sage Bistro in Canmore. Joined by more family and friends, they celebrated in the rustic atmosphere with the mountains in view. The submerged roses with floating candles as the centerpieces added the perfect amount of elegance to the rustic feel and tied everything together into a beautiful wedding package.
How/when did the two of you meet?
We met a friend’s wedding. Wes was the best man and I was a guest of the bride. We met after Wes was finished his best man
duties and enjoying the party – so he doesn’t remember meeting me! We met again a few years later through the same friends and
hit it off!
What was the inspiration or reasoning for your wedding style/theme?
We wanted a small wedding and we stuck to it!
What was your favourite moment on your wedding day?
Walking into the Sage Bistro and seeing all of our friends and family there, excited to celebrate with us!
