bio

Ginevre studied plant and wildlife ecology in Queensland, Australia and earned a Bachelor of Science with Honours. After working in science for a couple of years, she then embarked on a career in graphic design, and gained broad experience in web and graphic design, Flash multimedia work, ColdFusion programming, branding and image editing.

Ginevre has been taking photos for almost as long as she can remember, beginning with 'borrowing' her parent's simple Olympus point and shoot until she convinced them to buy her an SLR camera - a Minolta X300. Then came the Nikon F65, then along came digital. She now shoots with a Nikon D300 and a variety of Nikon lenses. After years of shooting mainly landscapes and animals, she discovered a passion for photographing people when she began shooting events, portraits and weddings in 2007. She is also experienced in creating virtual tours.

Ginevre moved to Canada in 2008 with her fiance and after spending a year in Whistler she is now living on Vancouver's North Shore.

Her spare moments, when not spent with a camera in her hand, are spent painting local landscapes, usually from photos she has taken when wandering around Vancouver, hiking in the wilderness, traveling or skiing. She usually works with acrylic on canvas. Her artwork is for sale and she has sold several pieces over the past year. Her most recent piece is Black Tusk Sunrise, a painting of Whistler's Black Tusk and Whistler Mountain.
